Visit this famous and historic, privately owned 16th century County Town Hotel. Behind the deceiving facade you will find it has been magnificently extended to offer every modern facility.

Today the rooms in the main building of the White Hart retain the rich character of its historical background with low beamed ceilings and walls creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Alongside is the new bedroom block offering every modern comfort, tastefully blended to the original architecture.

The Hotel has a unique central location in the town with a Panoramic terrace enjoying magnificent 8 mile views of the South Downs and Ouse Valley. Known as the "Cradle of American Independence" where Thomas Paine forged his radical policies, the Hotel also became the chosen meeting place for Major Political and International events including the diplomatic talks between England and Russia.

Originally a Tudor Coaching Inn it's historic character surrounds you with an Oak Beamed Bar and Lounge, and Oak Panelled Public Rooms.
